Case 4: Friend Of Mine

The Crime:
Detroit Police Department responds to shots fired on the west side of the city. Its winter time... the police pull up to find a unknown black male lying in the snow with apparent gun shot wounds. EMS was called and they conveyed the unknown black male to the hospital where he is pronounced DOA (dead upon arrival).

DPD Investigation:
Homicide responds to the scene. They check out the house, and observe shell casings on the floor and throughout. They observe candles on the living room table and floor. As they go upstairs they find young lady in clothing, it appears a lady stays at the residence.

Downstairs they find locked doors, guns under the sink, and narcotics. They find out the ladies name is Mrs. X. They contact her family which states she has not been seen. Several weeks later after tracking her cell phone calls and A.T.M usage. They track her down at families home out of state and bring her back for a statement. She talks about our client who worked for Mr. Big in a drug gang. Our client was over her house and Mr. Big got upset and shots were exchanged and she left with the employee. The police then issued a warrant for our clients arrest. He was then located and brought back to Detroit for trial.

The Trial:Our client was brought to trial where he faced a jury. The trial went on the evidence was produced and the mistress was flown in by Prosecutors Office. She was they’re star witness as they thought. She was actually on our side. She was contacting our client, sending letters the entire time he was in jail, sending money and talking to his mother on a constant basis. She then testified, but her testimony helped our client out. Our client was convicted of CCW and Not Guilty of Mr. Biggs murder. Our client has currently served his 2 years in prison and is living in a western state with the mistress. Also, the things that were packed up were everything that Mr. big stashed in the house for her to keep, all the money that was in the house, and maybe some dope he kept there. Who says the dope game doesn’t pay.
SPI FINDINGS:
After speaking with our client in Wayne County Jail, he informed us that him and the mistress had an ongoing relationship. Mr. Big became suspicious and became jealous and upset with him. One day the mistress was embarrassed at a party when Mr. Big forced her to perform oral sex on him in front of everyone at the party. After that incident she came home crying and she discussed with the employee about a way to eliminate Mr. Big out of her life. The plan was hatched and on this day in her house it was executed. She contacted Mr. Big and told him she was going to be staying home for the evening and that she did not want to be disturbed. Mr. Big got suspicious and brought one of his enforcers with him to the house. When they pulled up in the driveway around about 3 or 4 in the morning. The house was dark. Well the employee and the mistress were on the couch having sex when they saw the lights from Mr. Bigs truck pull into the driveway. She ran upstairs, he ran to the backroom and found a handgun and waited. When Mr. Big and the his enforcer opened the door. The employee shot striking Mr. Big and the enforcer at the same time.

Mr. Big stumbled and fell in the living room area. The enforcer ran and ended up at a hospital. The enforcer gave a different story to the Police about where he was. Our client carried Mr. Big out to the front yard taking his keys and moving his truck out of the driveway, so he and the mistress can escape. The employee and mistress escaped to a western state together. At that point in time they began they’re relationship until the mistress was told to come back and give the police a statement. While she was talking to the Police her family went to her house a packed up her things and brought everything back to her families house.
